Purpose – I am designing a product that promotes a number of
aspects to Arsenal Football Club. My aim is to promote different areas of the
football club and inform fans on information, to do this I will use different
multi media types. What I am aiming to inform supporters on is the team,
upcoming fixtures and previous results and news about the club. I will also
inform fans on a number of different things including injury news and transfer
news and rumours. To make my product entertaining, I will use different media
types. My target audience is fans of Arsenal.
Multimedia Types
Photos: These are still images that have been taken
by cameras. These are useful for the aims of my product as it can add colour to
the page and can also be used as a more interesting form to give information
compared to text. A way in which I will use photographs with my product will be
as a link for example, in the news section, when you click on a picture, it
will take you straight to the relevant news story. This makes it easier to
click on news stories as well as you don’t have to try and click on small text.
Videos: A video uses moving images and sound. Videos
are one of the most popular ways of sharing information. Instead of giving the
viewers an image with supporting text, you can just give them a video with an
audio recording over, this means the viewer can see what’s going on as well as
it being described to them without scrolling down the page and losing the
image. Another advantage of using videos is that I can show highlights of
games, which accomplishes my aim because not all of the games are shown on TV
and people may miss the game, so it means they are always up to date. I can
also show interviews with players and staff which will be in the interest of
some viewers.
Text: Text is the most simple, but a necessary form
of multimedia. It’s will be used all over my site, one of the most important
ways will be links to different sections of the website, for example along the
top of my site will be words such as, ‘Photo’s’ ‘News’ ‘Videos’ and when you
click on these it will take you to the pages relevant. Another way I will use
it is to feed the supporters information that doesn’t need multimedia such as
videos and images for example, when I post things such as injury lists.
