The way output devices and printers have developed has had an impact on the design and the creation of the graphic images, the images are clearer and appealing for people to look at. The reason for this is that before there used to be older monitor cases that were not as thin. Whereas now there are modern monitors that are thinner which means that the case isn’t more than a few centimetres deep and are generally LCD which is also known as the Liquid Crystal Display or thin Film Transistors. Also the monitor includes the display device that lets you see programmes, pictures and documents. The monitors come in different sizes, but do the exact same thing. Another way in which the monitors have had an impact on the design and the creation of the graphics is, because before people can now watch TV and films that they would usually watch on TV on their computer monitors because the display quality. Therefore this shows us that the computers are offering high quality graphics and features which is what the customer wants. A printer is an External device that communicates with another digital device to print what a user sees on the screen. The way in which the development of printers has had an impact on the design and the creation of the graphics is, because if people wanted to receive good quality printing then they would have to buy a printer that is more expensive, whereas now people don’t have to buy an expensive printer to receive good quality graphics. This is because the Inkjet printers have small nozzles that squirt tiny drops of ink onto the paper, although buying ink these days can end up being more expensive than the printer itself after just a few refills. One of the latest developments in printing is 3D printing, 3D printing allows you to print out actual objects; there are many things which you can print with a 3D gun that actually works, to a working Bicycle. To print out a 3D object the first thing you would need is a 3D printer, these can cost up to tens of thousands of pounds and this is a limitation that can put people off 3D printing, but as time passes like every other electrical appliance the price will start to decrease and 3D printers might eventually become common household appliances. Another thing that might put people of 3D printing is the software, Google Sketch Up is a free 3D printing software Google are offering but it can be difficult to use, also the materials that you need to print in 3D can be very expensive or very cheap, depending on what you want to print. Not too long ago you were only able to print on one colour vinyl, because of this there were many limitations as to what you could print. Now you can print as many colours as you want to on a vinyl. The main type of image that is printed on vinyl is vector images, this is because vinyl printings are usually quite large as they are used for things such as vans and cars and you can fit the size of the vehicle without it pixelating, although now because of the quality and resolution of images, company’s such as Sky are using actual images on their vans to advertise.  Wide format printers are capable of printing almost any image as long as the resolution fits the page size without it pixelating. The wide format printers are capable of printing any type of graphic including vectors, and JPEGS. A program that you can use for printing on wide format printers can be Photoshop as you can choose the perfect resolution for what size you want to print.
